About this wine
Character
A rosé Champagne that holds its fullness under tension: juicy and creamy, yet taut with fresh acidity and vivid minerality. It balances restrained opulence with taut, energetic vibration.
Terroir and origin
Cyril Jeaunaux and Clémence Robin farm five hectares in Talus-Saint-Prix, on south-facing slopes above the Petit Morin at the southern edge of the Côte des Blancs. The soil holds millstone (Éclat de Meulières), flint, clay and white marl. Cyril Jeaunaux took over the estate in 1999 and converted it to biodynamic farming.
Grape variety and vinification
A blend of 60% Meunier, 30% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay, of which 15% Meunier is vinified as red wine. The vines are around 45 years old, with the 2021 and 2022 vintages forming the base. Pressing is done by hand, fermentation starts spontaneously with no added yeasts; ageing takes place in steel tanks, glazed concrete and oak barrels at least ten years old. The Champagne spent 30 months sur lattes in the chalk cellar hand-dug in 1986, at a constant 12 degrees. Disgorged in October 2025, with a dosage of 4.5 grams.
On the palate
An almost silky raspberry and wild strawberry coulis, with a hint of cassis. The nose shows a slightly smoky note, underlaid with pomegranate, grapefruit and apple skin. Delicate sweetness and light tannin balance each other, while the creamy texture is given shape by the acidity.
Highlights
Meunier dominates here, accounting for over 50 percent of the vineyard area and developing its own spice on this flint terroir. Cyril Jeaunaux is a member of the Terres et Vins de Champagne association. Jacques Mell has been the biodynamic consultant since 2013.
