About this wine

Character

A Champagne that lives up to its name. Classically built without ever feeling generic: demand, tension and spice on one side, exuberant freshness and a fine, sweet core on the other.

Terroir and origin

The grapes grow in Ludes and Villedommange in the Montagne de Reims, as well as in the Vitryat, namely in Vavray-le-Grand. Ludes, to the east, yields elegant, age-worthy wines from chalky, clay soils, while Villedommange, on the western side, contributes fullness and balance. Pierre Huré personally farms the ten hectares of Premier Cru vineyards across both villages.

Grape variety and vinification

The cuvée is made up of 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Meunier and 20% Chardonnay. Depending on the vintage, the base wine is blended with 25 to 40% reserve wines from a solera that has been continuously topped up in the cellars of Ludes since 1982 and never emptied. After three years on the lees, disgorgement took place in November 2024, with a dosage of 4.5 grams.

On the palate

On the nose, lemon meringue, almond croissant, white peach and mirabelle plum, alongside ripe apple, red berries and stone. On the palate, bright citrus notes, white-fleshed fruit and vanilla pastry over a hint of limestone and chalk. The texture is creamy, the freshness carries far.

Details

Huré Frères is a third-generation family estate. François Huré has run the house since 2008 and calls the shots in the cellar; his brother Pierre joined him in 2012. François studied in Dijon, worked at Jean-Pierre Fleury and gained experience in Australia and New Zealand. The Invitation is the two brothers' calling card, here in the 375 ml bottle.
