About this wine

Character

La Rose de Manincor 2025 is a dry rosé from South Tyrol, crafted by Michael Graf Goëss-Enzenberg in Kaltern from seven red varieties. It comes across fresh, juicy and creamy, red-berry fruited yet spicy at the same time, and at 13.0% ABV brings a substance and elegance that make it a fine companion to food.

Terroir and origin

The grapes come from red-wine sites at Seehof, at Panholzerhof and in Mazzon, between 250 and 500 metres above sea level. The soils are dense clay, limestone gravel and other glacial deposits. Manincor farms 50 hectares in Kaltern, biodynamic since 2005. Michael Graf Goëss-Enzenberg took over the estate in 1991, and since 2008 Helmuth Zozin has run it as estate director.

Grape variety and vinification

The cuvée is made up of 30% Cabernet Franc, 25% Merlot, 20% Pinot Noir, 13% Vernatsch and 4% each of Tempranillo, Syrah and Petit Verdot. Part of the must comes from saignée after a brief skin contact, another part from direct pressing of whole clusters. Fermentation takes place partly in wooden barrels, partly in stainless steel tanks, with five months of ageing.

On the palate

In the glass, a clear, pale coral. The nose opens delicately, with cherry blossom and chamomile, fine yeast notes, red berries and sour cherry, alongside hints of grapefruit, rock dust and herbs. The wine carries fine tannin and a delicate texture, the fruit stays juicy, and the finish reveals a depth that goes beyond the fruit alone.

Special features

The cellar is built into the hillside and relies on gravity rather than pumps, with the cool rock keeping temperatures constant. The estate's red wines ferment entirely spontaneously, with herbal teas replacing synthetic sprays.
