About this wine
Character
The Nana 2024 is an Albariño fermented with skin contact: amber hue, subtly perceptible tannin, cool acidity. It belongs to the Sitta series by Attis Bodegas y Viñedos, through which brothers Robustiano and Baldomero Fariña explore the variety beyond fruit and freshness. Dry, texture-driven, distinctive.
Terroir and origin
The vines stand in the Val do Salnés, the heart of Rías Baixas and the birthplace of Albariño. Attis farms five hectares across small parcels between 100 and 400 metres in altitude, on sandy granite soils. The westward exposure toward the Atlantic brings cool afternoon breezes, extending ripening while preserving acidity. Traditional pergola training shields the grapes from intense sun and keeps the canopy well ventilated in Galicia's humid climate.
Grape variety and vinification
Pure Albariño from vines up to 60 years old. Fermentation takes place on the skins, following Georgian tradition, lending the wine colour, tannin and spice. The Fariña family is advised by oenologist Jean-François Hébrard. 13.0% vol., aged dry.
On the palate
On the nose, citrus zest, pale stone fruit and floral notes, alongside a saline streak and fine spice. On the palate, dry, with crisp acidity and a tannin that gives the wine structure; juicy, mineral, with a long finish.
Details
Sitta is the estate's experimental line: macerated white wines modelled on the Georgian tradition. The Fariña family runs the family estate in its third generation, their cellar carved into the granite bedrock, overlooking the Rías of Arousa and Pontevedra.
