About this wine
Character
A naturally sweet Albariño at 8% ABV that thrives on tension: the high acidity stands so clearly against the sweetness that nothing feels cloying, oily or honeyed. In place of richness, there's brightness, drinkability and an aromatic depth reminiscent of an aperitif.
Terroir and origin
Val do Salnés, the heart of Rías Baixas. Attis farms five hectares across small parcels between 100 and 400 metres of elevation, with vines up to 60 years old rooted deep in sandy granite soils. Traditional pergola training shields the grapes from intense sun and ensures airflow in a rain-prone region. The west-facing orientation towards the Atlantic brings cool afternoon breezes, slow ripening and crisp acidity.
Grape variety and vinification
Pure varietal Albariño, crafted in a lusciously sweet style and part of the experimental Sitta series, through which third-generation brothers Robustiano and Baldomero Fariña explore what this variety can achieve beyond freshness and zest. They're advised by oenologist Jean-François Hébrard. The modern 2011 winery sits on Monte Penaguda, carved into the granite rock.
On the palate
Ripe mango, cantaloupe melon and passion fruit form the exotic core, laced with lime, key lime, lemon and yuzu. Grapefruit brings a tart contrast, while coriander, chervil, lemon balm, mint and lemongrass lend the wine an Asian-inspired edge, and yellow blossoms add finesse. The finish stays long and bright, with delicate nashi pear.
