About this wine
Character
A bright, clear Champagne with a vibrant structure and invigorating freshness. On the nose, lime and ripe lemon, alongside fresh pear, apple and delicate almond notes. In the glass, medium straw yellow with a fine mousse.
Terroir and origin
Régis Poissinet farms 7 hectares in Cuchery in the Marne Valley, spread across 35 parcels around Cuchery, Baslieux, Leuvrigny, Troissy and Mareuil-le-Port. The vines average 33 years of age. Chalky clay and alluvial limestone marl shape the soils, lending the wines a mineral backbone. Since 2011 the family estate has worked biodynamically: no herbicides, no insecticides, but its own compost made from animal and plant residues.
Grape variety and vinification
The cuvée blends 77% Pinot Meunier and 23% Chardonnay from several vintages, with an 11% share of reserve wines. The base wine matured in oak barrels and tanks. The dosage is 3 grams, and disgorgement took place on 20 March 2025. Alcohol content is 12.0% vol.
On the palate
Juicy, round and classically built, carried by fine autolysis and a very light oxidation. The fruit stays bright and clear, the structure vibrant, the texture silky. On the finish, a saline note that, together with the mousse, delivers length and drinkability.
Food pairings
Oysters and seafood, sushi and sashimi, plus light starters with goat cheese.
Highlights
Poissinet puts the often underrated Pinot Meunier centre stage. The estate's wines carry a dosage between 1.7 and 3.5 grams per litre, with sweetness playing no role here. The label bears the Demeter logo. His son Maxime already works alongside him in the vineyard.
