About this wine
Character
A Blanc de Noirs that comes across as highly elegant yet powerful from the very first moment. The nose brings together red apples and cellar apples, red berries and kumquats, alongside the crust of a freshly baked tourte de meule, smoke, gorse and hay. Beneath these lie subtle hints of stone and graphite.
Terroir and origin
The grapes grow in Ludes and Rilly-la-Montagne on the Montagne de Reims. Ludes, where Huré Frères is based and holds its Premier Cru vineyards, lies on the eastern side of the ridge on chalky clay soils that produce elegant, age-worthy wines. It is precisely this structure that underpins this vintage Champagne.
Grape variety and vinification
80% Pinot Noir and 20% Pinot Meunier. The base wines were fermented and aged in barrel. After blending and the second fermentation, the Champagne matured sur lattes until July 2025 and was disgorged with a dosage of 1.2 grams — an extra brut in the strictest sense. 12.0% vol.
On the palate
As layered as on the nose, yet balanced, energetic and fresh. Vivid acidity and taut structure combine with a creamy texture, an elegant mousse and vibrant minerality. Add to this the generosity and dark-fruit accents that define this style, with power, elegance and aromatic expression held in balance.
Highlights
Huré Frères is run by François and Pierre Huré in the third generation: Pierre tends the ten hectares of Premier Cru sites in Ludes and Villedommange, while François steers the work in the cellar. Barrel-aging the base wines and long lees ageing with almost no dosage give this vintage its depth.
