Langhe Nebbiolo DOC 2022

A dry Nebbiolo at 14.5% ABV, carrying fruit and structure in equal measure. Effortless elegance, rich dark cherry fruit, framed by a spicy backdrop of sandalwood and earthy notes. In the upper register, clear violet notes emerge, topped by a subtle balsamic note.

The grapes come from a vineyard planted specifically for this wine: the "fasce di rispetto", those rows bordering non-organically farmed vineyards belonging to other producers. The estate cultivates eleven hectares in Barolo, Monforte and Serralunga, entirely certified organic since 2014. Chiara Boschis was the first to convert Cannubi, and with the Cannubi Bio project she won over around 80 percent of the growers in this cru by 2015.

Pure Nebbiolo. Balanced tannin and well-integrated acidity are the focus here: 14 months of ageing in second-passage French barriques, followed by two months of bottle maturation.

Stable and invigorating. Silky, tightly knit tannins wrap around the juicy fruit, while a meaty bite and profound aromatics give it weight for the cold season.

Chiara Boschis was the only woman among the Barolo Boys who drove the renewal of Barolo: shorter maceration times, ageing in French barriques, wines accessible earlier. Her first vintage, 1990, won the Tre Bicchieri; behind her stand nine generations of winemaking. Since 2010 she has run the estate together with her brother Giorgio.
