About this wine
Character
A single-varietal Cabernet Franc of great density, bearing the signature of Luca D'Attoma: fruit concentration, monumental fullness and the finesse that grows out of biodynamic work and minimal intervention. Made dry, at 15.0% Vol., with the substance for long bottle ageing.
Terroir and origin
Duemani is located near Riparbella, eight kilometres north of Bolgheri and just as far from the Tuscan coast. The vineyards form an amphitheatre at 250 to 300 metres of altitude, where maritime influence meets a continental climate. Twelve hectares, farmed according to strict biodynamic principles without chemical substances.
Grape variety and vinification
100 percent Cabernet Franc. The estate has been Demeter-certified since 2004, making it one of Tuscany's early biodynamic producers. In the cellar, amphorae, cement and terracotta support natural winemaking; the wine is neither fined nor filtered, which gives it stability and longevity.
On the palate
Blackcurrant and ripe plum, along with violet, graphite and fine herbs, with cedarwood in the background. The body is full and concentrated, the tannin dense, the dark fruit juicy, accompanied by black pepper. The finish lingers long.
Food pairings
With beef tenderloin in red wine jus, braised lamb leg with rosemary, wild boar ragout with polenta or duck breast with dark berry jus. An aged Pecorino Toscano also suits this structure.
Special features
Elena Celli and Luca D'Attoma founded Duemani in 2000. Annual production stands at 45,000 bottles. Since the estate was taken over by Le Tenute del Leone Alato in 2023, D'Attoma has stayed on as a consultant. The Demeter logo appears on the label.
